Brink! Summer Wkndr - Sat 31st August: TNI x Plan B Take Over

** Sat 31st Aug: The Night Institute x Plan B: £10 - Get TNI x Plan B tickets **

Brink! is hosting a weekend of music with some of the city’s finest independent event promoters, to celebrate the last weekend of the summer, from house to reggae.

Our Saturday evening is in collaboration with legends of the Belfast clubbing scene, DJs who have electronic music running through their veins, and who properly know how to throw a party.

The Night Institute

One of Northern Ireland’s longest running independent club nights began life in a little upstairs function room with a broken sound system, and has since become home to a diverse and fiercely loyal community of creatives and clubbers, setting up base in several no-frills venues and outdoor spaces along the way.

These legends of Belfast’s Eastside Electronics, The Night Institute, The Hack Club & Open Air have teamed up a couple of times with Plan B now, and the results are special.

By supporting sustainable local spaces & home front artists, we hope to reduce the effect of MainStage DJ culture and its associated carbon footprint. International travelling acts rarely contribute to the cultural landscape of visiting cities while temporarily extracting from local economies.
— Timmy Stewart & Jordan Nocturne, TNI

Plan B

In the most unconventional yet incredible space in South Belfast, a monthly party has been bringing a lot of joy and human connection into people’s lives.  For those that have experienced and played at PLAN-B have been part of something special – and frequent mid-week afterglows.

PLAN-B was the result of a cancelled night, A Love from Outer Space gig during COVID lockdown in October 2021.  It was to be the first time a group of people who at that point had only ever communicated online during weekly internet radio show called The Sunday Service.  This was the Brainchild of local legend David Anderson of Hairy Bear Records.

David started the weekly show to reach out to like-minded people through the love of music.  It was not only something to look forward to at the end of each week, but it was also a reawakening of a deeply rooted passion and respect for the quality electronic music which for many was confined to memories and youth gone by.

The BRINK project is hugely important as it helps us foster a deep connection between ourselves and the natural world. Music can evoke and inspire a deep sense of appreciation which creates harmony and balance in our lives.
— Aidy McLaughlin, Plan B

What & where is Brink?

Brink! are creating a space that can demonstrate what can happen when we look at our city centre differently – how we can connect with it, make it grow, find space to play, experiment and educate ourselves in the face of climate change.

By supporting these nights you’re supporting Brink! because each of the independent promoters are kindly making donations to Brink! to help the project deliver on it’s goals of making changes to our city by doing it directly together.
