Brink! is hosting a weekend of music with some of the city’s finest independent event promoters, to celebrate the last weekend of the summer, from house to reggae.

Our Friday evening is in collaboration with a group who are carving out their own style on the scene, taking time to produce their artwork, building up a genuine following, and with a music purity that demonstrates a love for the music they play.

On The Fence

Onthefence was hammered and nailed together by the combined digging of ByPhil, Neale and Andy Lindsay, construction starting back in 2022 the brethren’s seek to provide the ideal resonance for any landscape.

You can expect to hear tunes from early 90s to late 00s house, from huge rolling bass lines paired with punchy hi-hats to rare unusual gems .. enough to intrigue the keen eared listener.

Check out a few On The Fence mixes to get you in the mood for their night:

“Back in 2022, we launched Onthefence with one goal in mind: to bring the sound we’ve come to adore over the years to Belfast.

In a city as small as Belfast, with its limited creative spaces, we try to host our events in intimate venues that deserve just as much love as the more well-known spots giving us the creative freedom to strategically programme our parties for the best experience possible.

Creating these parties has not only allowed us to share our passion but has also helped us discover some of the city’s most talented artists, giving them a platform to shine.

Brink! is a breath of fresh air to the city knowing there are people out there working behind the scenes to make Belfast a better place for creatives is an honour to be a part of.”

Critical Mass Belfast

Leaderless monthly bike ride. All welcome. The last Friday of every month
Meet 18.15 and set off 18.30 @ Albert Clock.

Critical Mass is a form of direct action in which people travel as a group on bicycles at a set location and time. The idea is for people to group together to make it safe for each other to ride bicycles through their streets, based on the old adage: there's safety in numbers.

Critical Mass events highlight the numbers of people who want to use their bicycle on the streets, but are usually unable to do so without risking their safety. They are a call to action to councils, governments and road planners to properly and thoughtfully design in the safety of all road users, including those who would prefer to walk and cycle, instead of prioritising motor traffic above all else.

The event originated in 1992 in San Francisco (typically held on the last Friday of every month); by the end of 2003, the event was being held in over 300 cities around the world.

Bang Bike

The Bang Bike is literally a festival on a bike powered by Dimebag DJs. it’s a portable sound system with a DJ on board. This month ByPhil from On The Fence will be the guest DJ to take to Belfast’s streets, as the pied piper leading the Fencing tunes to their Brink! home for the evening.
